Mayor de Blasio’s controversial plan to change admissions to the city’s top specialized high schools would slash enrollment of white kids from 24 percent to 15 percent, based on Department of Education projections.

Asian students would also take a big hit. Their enrollment in the eight elite schools would drop by more than half — from the current 62 percent to a projected 30 percent, the DOE says.

This new schools chancellor, Carranza, didn't wait very long at all to go full commie retard. He is actually EAGER to utterly ruin the last 8 schools in NYC where actual high level learning still takes place in order to fulfill his SJW agenda. So there should be no doubt whatsoever, that this guy is a total anal orifice, just like his boss, Comrade Bill DeBlASSio. Between the 2 of them, they will eliminate one of the few remaining reasons for parents of bright motivated kids to keep them in any sort of City school at all. The private schools will be thrilled to get these kids and so will the schools of nearby Westchester County and certain parts of Long Island. And then the entire NYC city school system, having eliminated their best and brightest which have heretofore buoyed up otherwise miserable stats, will simply be a stinking cesspool of nameless ooze, while the chancellor tries even more and more stupid libtard sleights of hand to make it look as though anything resembling useful education is going on.

The effect, of course, will be to downgrade the elite schools to “elite” status- elite in name only. The kids who would have gone to them will mostly find other alternatives. Once the merit requirements are waived for a substantial number of students then the courses will have to be dumbed down or As and Bs given for attendance at classes rather than for performance. As wi, private school, parochial school, or homeschool.th everything involving public schools- if folks actually cared for their childrens’ futures they would keep the kids out of public schools

And THIS is an outstanding example of why mayoral control of the school system should be rescinded. The first chancellor the moronic commie feeb Comrade Bill DeBLASSio chose was a senile woman he dragged out of retirement who hadn't had a new idea since 1985. Then he picks someone really near and dear to his heart, a fellow commie with designs to "transform" NYC by turning its schools into commie indoctrination centers with the almost exclusive emphasis on "equality" and "diversity"--right out of the commie playbook--versus actual education. Instead of "mass" being something in a science course you weigh, it's the singular of "masses", as in "masses of proletariats". Instead of "angle" as in geometry, it's "Anglo", the hated whitey who set up the schools for you to benefit from in the first place. This always amazed me.

Blacks DEMANDED integrated schools because 'white school were better'.

Then they complained whites were the majority and blacks kids couldn't learn until they reached 'critical mass'.

So they drive the white kids from the now formally high performing white schools to achieve 'critical mass'.

White school are now black and blacks still fail.

Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Maybe we should trying busing kids to their own neighborhood schools.

Just load them on buses each day, drive them around the block for an hour of wasted class-time, and let them off at their neighborhood school.

It might work so we should try.
