Wonder if there is public imaging from the Washington State natural resources/forest management dept equivalent to monitor for forest fires in the area.

Interestingly there are some smoke monitors in place around the area and at least one of them nearby has no data for 3 days surrounding the event. Port Angeles - E 5th St. You can see here:
