I did a purge of my ping lists a couple of months ago.
By searching on each ‘user name’ I deleted all that had not posted in over two years.
There were a lot, like hundreds..................

There are times when I would like to post anonymously, and so I’d like to be able to create an account with a phony name. My ordinary account uses (more or less) my real name.
I've got two accounts. One that I set up in 1996 that I forgot the password for and my current one that I set up in 1998.
Seems to me that with these kinds of numbers we should be able to end our Quarterly Freepathons in a week. Just sayin'.
My untimely support of Ted Cruz nearly had me banned. At the time, I had no particular beef against Trump; just preferred Cruz’s proved conservatism. Didn’t sit well as the tide turned.
That has happened many times but the mods have some tools they can use to discover if someone was previously banned.
I was banned once in the late 1990s and re-registered a couple of years later under a different name. Have been pretty well-behaved since. Am a veteran of the 2009 National Tea Party and FreeRepublic Convention held at the same time in Washington.

South bashers who get zotted at times for going too far off the reservation and showing their true colors beyond south bashing often show back up under another nick
You can just tell by how they write
I got zotted for 18 months in 2005 and didn’t nor did I go anti freep which is the usual sequence

I think some seminar types especially nevertrumpers who overlap with south bashers btw have banks of usernames on hand

I would think if you had another IP address and email you could re-register. I don’t think you could do this from the same computer you had while posting under your old account. ???
How many unique members who actually post daily?
I’m guessing it’s down over half from the halcyon days early 2000s
Man threads used to fly literally
You’d see a post and stop to reply and by the time you hit post there were 30-40 more posts on the thread
That doesn’t happen anymore except on election night
It’s too bad cause there is more competition I guess and I think we’re an aging demographic
On the good side we’re more conservative now especially culturally
The tone here used to be far far more PC
I would assume that if they ban you then you're expected to take the hint and stay banned.
Of course it’s possible if you have multiple email addresses.
I have only ever created one account here, though.
I change my account every few years as I don’t want anyone building a profile on me. I say some pretty outrageous things at times.

Why play games? If someone gets zotted, they should stay away for a little bit, contact Mr. Robinson, apologize, and promise to be a good Freeper. Then ask to be let back into the fold.
True trolls probably need not apply. Not presuming to speak for Mr. Robinson, but just a hunch.
PS Given that FR is under constant attack and still stays up, it’s my guess they are pretty good at this whole Internet thing...
I think I’ve had four over 20 years. This one has been banned a number of times only to be unbanned without notice when they finally realized years later that I was right about the thing I was banned over.
First ban was about me objecting to the abuse of US military forces for GWB’s insane third-world nation-building projects. Between the war and the soldiers who were tasked to fight it, I picked the side of the latter, which was not within the acceptable range of opinions at the time.
Now of course it’s obvious to almost all that people should have been objecting to GWB’s insane foreign policy even earlier than I had done.
