My personal view is that these so called "Refugees", and Illegals crossing the border are in violation immigration policy and should be arrested.
I am for sending these family's and children back to where they came from. Yet the Liberal's and Leftists feel we should have Open Borders and anyone come in.
In our own Legal System when a parent or parents are arrested that have underage children, if the child has no where to go, other family. Then that child is put into the State System of a shelter or Foster Care. No one ever talks about this and it happens every day.
So please enlighten me as to exactly where this policy of separating the families started, did it predate Trump or is something that is from his administration. Thanks.

I hope to hear some answers as well. I saw a NYT article but of course they excused all other administrations as not using this policy even though it was in existence. However, one article spoke of Obama getting an unfavorable ruling from a judge on this issue. I do not believe we are getting the truth, just propaganda.
What obozo did was separate the children— 600,000 of them and hid them allover the country so they will NEVER be reunited with their parents , where they belong— En MEXICO!!

It’s never been our policy to send children to jail with their parents. When adults accompanying children - adults who may or may not actually be related to the children- are arrested, when has any administration sent the children to jail with the adults? The adults are separated from the children and sent to adult facilities.
Do the libs want North Korean style camps where three or more generations are imprisoned together because of the “crimes” of just one person?

I know when my father and his family came to the U.S. in 1912 from Holland, and disembarked at Ellis Island, the men/boys were sent to one area, and the women/daughters sent to another area to be evaluated, and medically examined. My father had two brothers, so they all went with their father. That meant my grandmother was separated from the rest of her family until they were all cleared.
According to this article, children can be separated if there is no family relation to the adults, or of there is reason to believed the children are in danger such as child trafficking. Due to 1997 Flores consent decree, ICE can only hold minor for 20 days, period. Since children can not be legally held as long as adults, they are placed under HHS custody. Unless congress changes the law and there is a challenge that goes through he Federal courts, after 20 days children will have to be taken away form their families no matter what other policies are in place.
Also, back in 2016, the Supreme Court doomed Obama’s immigration policy because the vote was tied 4-4. Under the proposal, adults in the United States illegally could remain if they meet certain residency requirements and have children who are American citizens or lawful permanent residents. It would also expand another program, now in effect, that allows young people to stay in the country if they were brought here under age 16.

Jeff Sessions and his cabal could tell you. I believe it is a concocted narrative to make republicans look heartless in the fall. Sessions ignores the outrageous crimes of Hillary Clinton and lets Mueller and the FBI ruin lives yet he makes a stand on this? And a LOUD stand, even going so far as to quote scripture to back it up. It’s quite a script. And the media will gladly play their role.
