I was driving along Hwy 2 in Montana near Cut Bank when a huge penguin jumped out at me.

I know that penguins aren’t indigenous to Montana, but neither are Wallabies and some lady crashed her car because she saw one of those.

I had to stop and drink a local brew called Penguin Piss.

Mighty tasty.

Comes from fresh squeezed penguins.

When I moved with my mom and sister from Detroit to Charlevoix Mi. in 1976, one of the small-town quirks that endeared the town to me was that someone had taken it upon themselves to actually paint a realistic cross-walk across Waller Road with the words Toad Crossing on the road. It became a local tradition that you had to stop at the Toad Crossing every time you would drive down the road for years, until the crossing was paved over.
