CALVERT COUNTY, Md. (ABC7) — Often times we see police body camera footage after someone has died in an officer involved shooting, but rarely do we see body camera footage showing what happens when officers encounter a dangerous situation and no one is injured.
On Friday, the Calvert County Sheriff's Office released a video that does just that.
The video was from June 18 and was posted to their Facebook page. It shows a deputy pulling over a man for a traffic violation who steps out of his vehicle with his hands behind his back. It turns out he had a nine millimeter handgun behind his back. The next thing that's heard on the video is the deputy yelling at the man to put his hands on the ground and drop the gun.
The video ends before the man is seen being taken into custody without any injuries.

Officer shows restraint after a driver pulls out a gun
BLM and the race hustlers ought to give this cop an award for the incredible restraint he showed.
But that won't happen. It would be bad for business to award cops for showing restraint.
My uncle tried to commit suicide-by-cop by running at a police officer with his hands in his jacket as if he had a gun there. Fortunately, the cop saw through it and stayed cool and he’s alive and well today.
How long before the Left demands that “body cams” be eliminated?
I knew someone who faced a similar situation in the Gulf War. He and a fellow soldier encountered 2 Iraqis who shouted to them they surrender while each having a hand behind their backs. Despite repeated demands to them to show both hands they refused to comply and their was no other alternative but to shoot them. It turned out they were holding fully loaded 9mm pistols. Even though the shooting was justified he still suffers from PTSD over it. So yeah, police in general HATE to be put in those situations. Another friend has been a cop for over 25 years. So far the only times he shot his gun is at the range. The few times he had to take out his gun during an arrest, the suspects had the sense to realize he meant business and complied.
The idiot is very lucky the office had such patience.
Cop needs to be suspended until he can be re-trained and retested.
First he holds his handgun ‘gangsta’ style, then he shows an unwillingness to defend himself.
I’m sure it will happen. It seems it backfires on them too much. But with their media lackeys it still works as the media does not show videos like this, only the bad ones.
BLM and race hustlers only get involved when there is money and/or power to be gained from getting involved. Hence their dead silence when blacks kill blacks or anyone else.

I agree. This type of behavior is reinforced with praise and commendations when it should be corrected. I could go on at length about an FBI study and other data that show that nice guy cops get killed because they fail to perceive and act to stop an obvious lethal threat.
