Nah, didn’t lose part of the finger (yet), but there are two deep vertical clefts in my fingertip. Those reciprocating blades move past each other in opposite directions at high speed, and even when they’re off, it’s like looking into the maw of an alligator. I was holding my hand up vertically, and by the time I got to the nearest sink, I had a dozen streams of blood running down my forearm and dripping off my elbow. The sucker wouldn’t stop bleeding for 15 minutes. Due, partially, to my low platelet count. My blood doesn’t clot too quickly. One of my doctors is mulling over the concept of having me go to the medical center and getting periodic platelet transfusions, since my own won’t cooperate. He thinks they’re hiding out in my (enlarged) spleen (splenomegaly, it’s called), and isn’t sure why, but as long as it doesn’t go bad on me, he’s not going to remove it. I turn 55 next Monday and I’m already a mess. LOL
Well, that’s better, but I do hope you heal up well and quickly!
