Yeah, me too. It’s a shame it ended this way, but at least she is at peace.

She was able to move her hand and feet sometimes when her mother would ask her to as well as breathe a little on her own. She also continued to grow and began to menustrate. There was one doctor who was lobbying to have the death certificate changed because he thought she was just severely brain damaged. That said, she very likely would have spent the rest of her life in that bed, and she is now at peace on the other side.

I saw those videos. Not a single one showed Jahi spontaneously moving under her own volition. The videos showed that her muscles could twitch with stimulus (i.e. reflex), or that the movement seemed to result from off screen manipulation as if someone was prodding a body part to cause movement. Then there was that brain image, which showed that the brain had fragmented, shrunk, and mummified. Due to the skull interior being essentially sterile, the brain tissue did not putrify.

There is a reason that the lawyer never brought the case to have the death certificate nullified to court: Jahi was dead by any scientific or medical measure. No judge would have looked at the evidence and concluded otherwise.

No emotions involved.
Just simple logic.
Disconnecting a ventilator from someone, anyone, who can’t breathe without it will result in death by suffocation.
A deliberate action resulting in death.
This is usually called euthanasia.

Why so upset?
Read posts 5 and 7 where the posters were whining hard about someone being on a ventilator and unable to breathe on their own.
Nevermind that there are plenty of people out there who can’t breathe on their own...

How about this? No. You are being stubbornly know-it-all in a situation where you were not a witness and had no first-hand knowledge. You have hectored and insulted people on this board who have actually spent eight years in graduate school, more years in residency and many years in medical practice — to you, they know nothing, compared to your emotions. Life is in the hands of the Father. He is the final answer of life and death. The Holy Spirit was present in the situation and was readily available to any of the parties involved each time they asked. Maybe they asked in prayer, including the doctors. Maybe they didn’t. But you weren’t there. So stop trying to be the medical care police on this thread. The more you insist your morality is superior to everyone else’s, the less I believe it may be. Direct your anger and moral outrage at the true target, which is that something happened in your life in which you sustained a loss, including a loss of trust in medical care. Why did you ever place it there in the first place? There is no salvation but in Jesus.

That is NOT euthanasia

“You are being stubbornly know-it-all in a situation where you were not a witness and had no first-hand knowledge. “

Funny, you have no first hand knowledge either, neither did posts 5 and 7.
Your point?

“. You have hectored and insulted people on this board”

Where?

“compared to your emotions. “

What emotions?

“But you weren’t there. “
And neither were you too r anyone else in this thread.
Your point?

“The more you insist your morality is superior to everyone else’s, the less I believe it may be. “

Funny that you read this into everything.
Did you feel personally injured by something I said?

So a deliberate action resulting in death doesn’t in your world.
Very well.

I have plenty of responses, but I’m not going to undertake your education, as you are quite obviously not on the thread to learn or even to teach, but to preen. Heal thyself.

Weren’t you just claiming I was insulting people?
Must be a mirror around here somewhere.

My mother-in-law had a heart transplant years ago. Needless to say, she was in and out of various hospitals for years following. At one point, she was comatose for weeks and declared “brain dead.” My wife’s father and my wife got into a huge argument over end-of-life measures. We all agreed about removing the ventilator, but he wanted to remove her intravenous medication.

In her case, my wife and I considered the ventilator as mechanical life extension, while the medication was normal treatment in her case. (The drug regimen of transplant patients is necessary for life). After a heated, messy battle with her omniscient doctors, we convinced everyone to remove her vent, but continue her meds.

She awoke and began speaking the next morning. Over the next few weeks she made a full recovery, appointed my wife her medical and legal proxy, and moved across the country after her husband initiated divorce proceedings.

According to her treatment team at a very prestigious Southern California medical centers, she had been dead for weeks. Had they withdrawn her medications, their incorrect diagnosis would have proven fatal. It’s the same with food and hydration. Everyone’s life depends on food and water.

“Euthanasia is actively killing someone. Withdrawing life support is NOT euthanasia.”

Neither is not feeding a baby, right?

Idiot.

She actually died after her mom gave her a cheeseburger when she was not supposed to eat. She had extensive throat surgery so she could breathe with her morbid obesity. Let’s be clear why she died
