Isn’t saying something like that in Canada “hate speech?”
Seriously, as a Canadian citizen, you are not free to express yourself if some government Marxist in the government wants to take you to task for spreading hate.
Talk to Canadian Mark Steyn, conservative columnist and commentator who lives in New Hampshire, about hate speech in Canada. He was embroiled for years in charges against him by the British Columbia Human Rights Commission, for dissing Islam in one of his books.

"....Last week a nationwide criminal arrest warrant was put out on a 51-year-old Canadian named Bill Whatcott. Whatcott was in the Canadian oil sands at the time, driving a bus to support his family. It was a rough jobtemporary work in remote, far-north Canadabut the only employment he could find just then to support his family of four.
Whatcott was wanted in Toronto to be charged with Wilful Promotion of Hatred against an identifiable group, namely the gay community. The basis for this charge? In 2016 Whatcott had distributed safe sex pamphlets at a gay pride parade....."
