I was told by a fellow FReeper that my early remarks about the politics of California were wrong because it painted Californians with a broad brush (my summary).
Free Republic itself is based in CA, many FReepers live there and they cannot help the fact they are behind enemy lines and fighting against the tide of leftists of all sorts. One said to me to remember them as they try to stand up to the overwhelming tide of leftists. I try to do that.
This is not to attack you in any way and I don’t mean it as a criticism. Anyone with normal refinement and good taste would agree with you that this leftist lifestyle is sick, demented and wacky as well as distasteful and nauseating.
You and I and fellow FReepers in leftist held territory are like a lotus growing upward from mud and muck and then flowering above it in beauty. That’s why the lotus is used in so many places in Eastern philosophy. We must keep our beauty no matter what is around us.
