I remember an old interview he did in the late ‘70s.
He said that his Father would NOT let him have a car until he was able to take it completely apart, and put it back together in working order.
I have no idea if it was true or made up, but I remember that interview quite accurately.
Worked with a woman in the 90’s told me her father did same to her,she did and drove.

I had a car..actually two... bought by myself that my father took away from me just for the hell of it.
