My wife and I visited San Fran many times back in the lat 80’s to mid 90’s. I’d as soon visit Calcutta these days...
I worked for several SF and silicon valley companies in the 70s, 80s, & 90s and even through the 90s SF was still a wonderful city to visit, excellent amenities and still fairly safe to walk about.
Today, even armed with a 357 Magnum, I'd be walking on egg shells {while avoiding the shit} and would never feel safe.
Couldn't pay me to go there.
