I thught I slipped into a time warp.
The other “Pretty Boy Floyd” assumed room temperature 84 years ago, in East Liverpool, Ohio.

Yeah, seem to also remember Pretty Boy Floyd has been long gone.
Given that this is in Mississippi the authorities will soon be looking for notorious bank robber George Nelson AKA "Babyface"...

Pretty Boy the original was a handsome guy
This guy not so much
Original killed or participated in over a dozen killings mostly law men
Pretty serious even if a generous bandit

There are different tales as to why he was nicked name "pretty boy". I read one that basically said the name was given because he dressed nicely even while working on an oil rig, like a "pretty boy", not because he was so handsome.
Gangster tales are to be taken with a grain of salt.

I think is interesting the way criminals were made into Robin Hood. They are part of our lore.
I wonder if high school shooters-the high profile criminals of our daywill be immortalized in a similar way.

Surprised he doesn't have tattoos.Perhaps that is how he got the nickname, "Pretty Boy"

On business in the Bay Area around 30 years ago, I walked into, “Floyd’s Casino,” in Martinez. There was that picture of Pretty Boy and another of a woman on the back bar. The owner/bartender was Pretty Boy’s son and the lady in the photo was his mother. He had built somewhat of a shrine to the old man.

Woody Guthrie wrote a song memorializing Pretty Boy Floyd shockingly called, 'Pretty Boy Floyd'. Have to admit I love the lines in the song:
"Yes, as through this world I've wandered
I've seen lots of funny men;
Some will rob you with a six-gun,
And some with a fountain pen.
When you think about the time this was written, at the depths of the depression, there's a lot of truth to that statement. The rest of the song is an ode to a psychopathic killer like he was robin hood.
