God does not shift his position in accord with public opinion polls. The Methodist Church has been in a civil war over this issue. In the Catholic Church Monsignor Freddy Delgado said that The People’s Church is in conflict with God’s Church.

I don’t care how many homosexual friends someone has or even if they deal with those issues themselves. People have to stand with morality and not the trendy set.

The NYT is effectively a gay mouthpiece: almost every single issue has at least one pro-homo article.

Clearly, the ownership and/or the editor are deviants and are energetically pushing the weird stuff on the rest of us.

And no, the Catholic Church will not "evolve" to accept sin.

If it “evolves” it won’t be the Catholic church any more.

many Democrats, including Barack Obama now push LGBT on the Church.

Isn't it time to leave the plantation, Catholics?

Through history enlightened men have decided they knows better than their Creator the purpose and intention of the Creator in how they should live and treat one another. It has not ended well during those times.

The Catholic Church must follow the Bible, or it is no longer God’s church.

Evolve!! What a word to use. But I guess the Pope believes in evolution so why not.

I wish there would be no more articles involving homosexuals or “transgender” nonsense posted on Free Republic. If we ignore them, maybe they will just go away. I’ve given up watching tv after seeing a commercial encouraging promiscuous sodomy after taking some pill that will block HIV. It made my skin crawl.

Sure. Maybe it can "evolve" on genocide, too.

In the beginning there was “Right” and “Wrong” and we have been compromising in the WRONG direction ever since.

What are these ‘rights’ that homosexuals don’t have that everyone else does?

Seems to me they have it pretty good already.

Those who believe the Bible is God’s infallible Word will always see homosexual activity as sin. They should treat homosexual people like any other heretics if they will not humbly confess the sin in their lives.

Those who are led by an “infallible” Pontiff for their final say are vulnerable to the direction of the Pontiff which is the exact danger the Catholic Church is in today. I wouldn’t behold the current one as a man of the Word - which is why our media so rejoices over him. To me, he’s an apostate.

The “cultural winds” have shifted many times in the two-millennial existence of the Church. It is their job to hold firm, not go with the times.

Unfortunately a man named Bergoglio may be about to change all that.

The Vatican evolved on this issue many popes ago.

Today gayness includes a Gay Vatican Mafia, openly gay sex and drug parties, and plenty of trusted gay workers.

The best the secular liberals can hope for from the Catholic Church is “love the sinner, hate the sin”. Even the guilt ridden homosexual clergy, that is far too numerous and powerful, knows that there cannot be “gay marriage’ within the Catholic Church. Nor can there be acquiescence to the molestation and imprinting of young boys which is at the core of homosexuality. Homosexuality is an abomination and the Church must purge homosexual priests from the clergy, make celibacy optional so that more normal heterosexuals enter the priesthood and disband the Jesuit order. The Jesuits have devolved into an unspeakable cabal of homosexuals.

NO.

READ ECCLESIASTES.

THERE'S NOTHING NEW UNDER THE SUN AND MOST CERTAINLY NOT IN THE WORLD THAT YOU AT ONE TIME HAD COMPLETELY OBSERVED AND DETERMINED THE CONVICTION THAT HOMOSEXUALITY IS SIN.

THERE WAS NOTHING THEN THAT COULD CHANGE YOUR MIND.

AND THERE IS NOTHING NEW THAT SHOULD INFLUENCE YOU TO CHANGE YOUR MIND NOW.

MANY BELIEVE CATHOLICS DON'T READ THE BIBLE ... DON'T GIVE THEM THE AMMUNITION TO RIDDLE YOU FULL OF HOLES.

The speed at which L.G.B.T. rights became a mainstream issue, including for many religious denominations, represents nothing less than a dizzying cultural transformation.

No, it represents the power of propaganda, and it demonstrates that most people have no moral anchor, no moral compass. Most people get their sense of right and wrong from the society itself, which means when the society goes off the rails, they have no way of knowing.

The author’s pronouncements in the excerpt are classic NYT disinformation. A “revolution” is coming, folks are getting on board with it.

Better get with it you Catholics - or you”ll be on the wrong side of history....

God? Whose that?

Can the Catholic Church ‘Evolve’ on L.G.B.T. Rights?

The foundation of Christian morality is God's character and moral nature. This is what tells us the difference between good and evil. God's character and moral nature are absolute, eternal, and unchanging.
