I disagree. They both still draw a lot of fans.

Who cares, so two millionaire, past their prime golfers are making more money. Yawn. I swear, if I had a son with any kind of athletic ability, I would encourage him to golf. You can play this damn sport and make money your whole entire life.

They both are receding in golfing prowess and golfing income, so a promo match will be good for business. Even the loser may get some more ad/marketing/endorsement deals.

“Can either afford to lose $10MM?”

I seriously doubt that either of them will NOT make money on it.

I’ve never understood why hitting a little ball rates so much money.

Makes sense to put up the $10 million. Charge admission, sell merchandise, put it on pay per view and there is money to be made. Why not?

If we had a Soviet style economy we could outlaw people making money playing golf.

This I gotta see! Love the idea. Hope they don’t go Pay-per-view. Although that would be very smart.

I liked the idea better in The Legend of Bagger Vance . . . this is silly and nothing but a money grab.

Shell’s Wonderful World of Golf at least was fun to watch.

No problem with money and golf, the economics never made much sense to me.

Oh yeah, it’s really simple to become a pro golfer . . . don’t forget you are paying all your own costs on the PGA Tour, assuming you ever get there to begin with.

It ain’t the game. It’s the meta-game: the game people play around the game.

The only way I’d watch golf is if there were landmines hidden throughout the course.
