That could well prove to be true. Right now it looks like there’s a pretty good chance that Trump will have another appointment.

With respect to RBG, its interesting in the sense of poetic justice that she didn’t voluntarily step down while Obama was in office.

I’m not going to hope for another persons demise, but isn’t it ironic that Kavanaugh will be torn apart in an attempt to find political bias, yet here sits Ruth Buzzie Ginsburg, 85 years old, refusing to retire and take her chances on dying in office just to deny someone like Trump the opportunity to appoint her successor. We’ll take those odds.

But it is the most transparently political decision a SCOTUS justice can possibly render.

You’re right, she should have done it when Obama would have made the appointment. Now she’s running against the clock.
