NFL Players Sue NFL For New National Anthem Rule Because It ‘Infringes On Players’ Rights’

The firestorm over NFL players disrespecting the national anthem is not over.

The NFL Players Association, a union that represents all NFL players, sued the NFL on Tuesday for their adoption of a new anthem policy. The NFLPA filed a grievance challenging new policy that forces all players to stand on the field during the anthem.

“The union’s claim is that this new policy, imposed by the NFL’s governing body without consultation with the NFLPA, is inconsistent with the collective bargaining agreement and infringes on player rights,” a press release from the union said.

"It’s gonna be a bad year for the NFL............................"

They have no idea. A new season is going to make it impossible to cook the books of attendance and TV ratings. They are both going to be down dramatically. Advertisers are going to demand big discounts and they will get them. The NFL is going to be faced with the truth that there is no boycott. Those that are no longer patronizing the NFL have MOVED ON WITH THEIR LIVES and are not coming back. The NFL has likely lost thirty percent or more of their audience.

NFL meet JCP Penny. Maybe they will get together and talk about the good ole days.

"The NFL Players Association, a union that represents all NFL players"

That simplifies things. Screw them all, forever.

Football is about to become passe anyway, at all levels because of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE). It's just a matter of time, and these guys are making people say it's time, right now.

For those of us who have been fans of the game, and have all had our own favorite teams we follow, what will ever take its place in the Autumn as the weather begins to change?

Nothing really, but for these ungrateful f's the choice is clear:

"...and don't come back. Best of luck to you at Jiffy Lube."

(Nothing against honest people who earn an honest living at Jiffy Lube, mind you.)

If the players have a grievance, they can negotiate with the League. If the League holds firm, then they can go on strike. For most scenarios with the branch and sequels, both the League and the players stand to lose. Because, of course, the fans have options also. They can stop buying tickets and/or stop watching the NFL on TV. the NFL are killing the golden goose. I won’t shed a tear.

These social justice maggots are almost done with the NFL’s carcass.

Strike.

Until both the owners and the players bleed out...

From your lips to God’s ears.

Make it so!

The NFL is something like 0-for-26 in major litigation over it’s history, so this fiasco ain’t over.

Question - what about the other pro sports? Are there players refusing to participate in the pledge? Was at a Nats baseball game (1st time in 45 years!) Had a great time, stadium was full but unfortunately we got there late so we missed the opening pledge.

That’s it... that’s the end of the NFL as far as I’m concerned.

Well, this will be the third year in a row with no NFL and guess what? I haven’t missed a thing. I used to love to watch the Packers but that’s over now.

As I type this, I am watching the World Cup. I have watched many of the matches and have enjoyed them immensely. I believe the European Soccer Leagues will be a fine replacement for the NFL. I Just wish Rugby was televised.

I will still watch College Football and cheer passionately for my Crimson Tide.

One more thing: Go Croatia!!

Someone called the kneeling players the Knee Jerks. Love it!

That gesture used this season will empty the grandstands. People are fed up and OBTW, isn’t the word `fan’ a contraction of `fanatic’? I think most folks would rather think for themselves than be fanatics but yes I could be wrong.

I know, right? Can these players be THIS STUPID???

I always used to think you had to have something going for you to play at this level.

Now, it is a basic lack of understanding of marketing 101: “dont piss-off half your customers”
