I still haven’t seen any reporting on what this year’s season ticket sales look like compared to last year. Those numbers are absolutely known to the NFL by now.

The numbers that really count are tv ratings. If ratings drop then networks will pay less to the NFL for their games which in turn means NFL will pay less to players. Once this trickle down effect occurs then the players will finally get it.

It’s not just the ticket sales that got their attention. Sponsors got lots of comments from people, clothing sales (jerseys, etc.) sales fell sharply. Many people (myself included) stopped watching when players knelt for the US Anthem, and stood for the UK anthem in London.
