Unless there is more to the story, it sure seems uncalled for to me.

I presume you refer to the note being written on the cup. I havent been at this store but I have been to many many stores in cities where homeless people camp out in front of the door. They beg for cash, usually don't want food if you offer that. They are there every day, all day. Some are filthy and seem deranged. Others are intimidating ... getting into your personal space when they aggressively ask for money. They get nothing from me. Others praise God and ask for help in a respectful manner, I'll often give them some change or a buck or two if I have one in a place where I can get to it without taking out my whole wallet. It's a mixed bag. Sometimes they give you a sob story about desperately needing bus fare to get to a place where their pregnant daughter is waiting and in need of help. But those guys are often back every day so I tend to discount that. Anyway, depending on the specific situation at this place I could easily see customers complaining.

i never , ever give beggars money. Last $$ I put in a cup was for a high school football team.
