After flying there many times over my career, I would agree that Changi (Singapore) is a super fine airport. Modern, very well equipped for travelers, CLEAN, and the list goes on.
It deserves first place.
Heathrow #8?!??!?!? Are you bleedin’ kidding me?
Really, Denver? TSA lines take forever there.
Frankly, I’d rather fly into/out of a regional airport, even if I have to go to a large hub for a connection. At least then, I’m behind the large TSA security theater.
>>The highest rated airport in the US is Denver, at #28.<<
That is strange because there is NOTHING good about DIA.
It is miles from nothing and the ride from the entrance to the terminal is what, 5 miles?
When you get in the lines are always longer than heck (except for us elite flyers).
The tram inside is OK and the terminal amenities are on par with DFW, ORL or MIA (to name a few off the top of my head).
But as Douglas Adams (I believe) noted, there is no term in any language that translates to “pretty as an airport.”
And last and least....Chicago O’hare.
I cannot believe LAX even made the top 100.
So huge that getting from one gate to another in order to change planes is a harrowing experience.
Walk ... wait in queue ... take a train ... walk ... go through security (at snail's pace) ... walk some more.
I don't mind the exercise, it's just that if you have more than an hour to get to your gate and you make it just in the nick of time that's unacceptable.
Heathrow has got to be the O'Hare of Europe.
US airports, especially Dulles (nation's capital, for God's sake), are embarrassing when you think of the impression they make on foreign visitors.
I’m surprised Dubai’s airport isn’t there, it’s massive.
Absolutely shocked LaGuardia didnt make the 10 best..../s/
Important to whom?
The list is a joke. Ever flown into Franfurt? Most of the international flights don’t even get jetways. Go down the steps in the rain, walk to a bus, ride the bus to the terminal, and then start walking. After getting through immigration and customs, expect a really long walk in the garage to your rental car.
Leaving, once you clear security, you are in a small area with a half dozen gates and almost no services. And the only places I’ve ever been intentionally hassled by security was Frankfurt (twice) and Moscow (once).
The trains from the airport to downtown - they were probably nice in the 1970s; now grubby and worn.
