Kinda funny how people are so incensed by cruel treatment of animals that they are triggered to commit cruel treatment of their own.

Kids do stupid sh!t all the time. They also fall prey to peer pressure. Is this normal for them or is this an anomaly? Kind of important to know in order to determine the correct punishment. I hope this is a one time thing, they are remorseful, the cat lives, and they would never do it again. But I’m not really ready to hang them just yet.

And confusing torturing with tormenting, of which even that might not be the intent. ...and they apparently did at least attempt the precaution of giving the cat a soft place to land.
