Protocol is protocol. I don’t mind that women curtsey to the Queen.
Getting upset because Michelle didn’t follow an arcane, made up rule because the media told you to get upset has nothing to do with respect. It has everything to do with being a puppet of the media.
The queen is only queen because of who she was born to. She should not be worshipped by Americans. And we should not be so foolish as to fall for a media trap.

Truth be told the old lady should curtsey to to usa. True protocol dictates demure to our superior, and we’re alone at the top. Our president and his wife most certainly fit the occasion, meeting with any head of state, or any has been monarchy.
Be polite and professional. That’s all.
Touching people is not some kind of right. I would be furious if Michelle went up to my own mother and put her hands on her. Again...it’s called respect.
It’s impolite. I guess if you have no manners, and don’t mind embarrassing our own great country, and have no sense of history or the history of anyone else, breaking protocol is “nothing.” But to some, it is something.
Michelle was piggy. Melania is not.

Respect... is earned.
1. The queen is queen because she was born to someone.
2. I am an American. I am not a subject to a fake monarch. And we are all created equal.
3. Fake monarchs have fake rules of respect. Wonder why? Oh, lets see, don’t touch the queen because you are LOWER than her (in fact, people posted just that argument in this thread). Refer to 2 above.
4. Thank God for President Donald J. Trump for showing the inherent hypocrisy around rules of “respect” and “gentlemen” behavior. Without his willingness to throw these yokes aside, we would be subjugated to ... her.
So you can go on being jerked around by the media because you want to be in this case (don’t like Michelle, so it is OK to be a media puppet). But I am going to stand by the fact that Michelle is an American (even if she doesn’t like America), therefore the queen and the fake rules of respect don’t really mean that much.
That was Melania following protocol. The article was implying that not covering her head in Saudi Arabia was not following protocol...
I believe a long black dress and veil are required dress for a woman to meet the Pope.
