A major effort is underway, to shove soccer down the throats of American consumers. Its being forced, just at the time the NFL is in political turmoil. Americans dont want it, because its boring as hell. Now, you take the hot women shots off the air? Dumb move. The point where the NFL really started to go downhill, was when they stopped showing the cheerleaders between plays.

A player is not off sides IF the pass is made or started before the player gets beyond the last defender between the goal and him. Is that correct?

I’ll bet five of the six in the picture are actually males with suicide vests strapped on.

“I’m still trying to figure out what the hell they’re all singing and rocking back and forth about, when there’s nothing happening for 90 minutes right there in front of them.”
One needs to entertain themselves somehow! And I’m just guessing here, but I wonder if beer might be involved.
I enjoy watching a soccer game once in awhile. I’d like to watch the final this Sunday - perhaps it will be over before I go to church.

Correct, it’s about the position of the player when the ball is struck, even if he gets in an onside position after the ball is kicked, it doesn’t matter, it’s still offsides.

Soccer is boring to those who aren’t vested in a team.
It’s pretty much the case for any sport, any game isn’t going to be exciting if you don’t know anything about the teams playing.
But once you get vested in a team and follow them, then you see the game in a whole different way.

I suggest you stay as far away from post #82... Yeah, I had to scroll back to not look at that one.

Baseball has been accused of being a dull sport, with not much happening. You have to be at the ballpark to appreciate the game. You miss about 95% watching the game on TV.
The emphasis on the home run has screwed up the game. If Bryce Harper can command $30 million + a year, how much would Willie Mays or Ted Williams been able to earn...$50 million? Willie never weighed more than 210 during his career, and he hit 650+ homers, and he lost a year and a half to a military commitment.
Ted Williams lost 5 years of his career, serving as a combat fighter pilot...remarkable.

I agree. Show more hot men in the stands. Who cares about the girls?

Correct. The player must be onside when the ball is kicked. The art is to time a run so that you sprint past a defender just as the ball is played in. A player running on to a through ball behind the defense is a beautiful thing, as long as the player doesn't break too soon.

Of course with the Gators the last few years, this hasnt been a problemHopefully, Mullen gets us back to something more resembling when he was here with Urban. Watching the damn Tide rolling relentless the last few years has been nauseating! Almost as bad as losing to the Dawgs and the Semi's!
To: RocketMan1
Well, I don’t think it’s going to be a great season this year, I just hope Mullen is building the foundation, that’s all I care about as far as this year goes.

Joey Gallo is a career .187 hitter, but he plays everyday because he hits home runs.

Literally, after a kickoff we waited almost 10 minutes for the first play of the series to happen because of all the TV timeouts. I vowed never again to go to a live football game, especially one that is nationally televised.Last year I returned to the stands for a major college football game for the first time in perhaps 20 years. Same experience. I couldn't believe how much downtime was involved with tv timeouts. It wasn't the same game I remember from my college days, when they went out and played with few interruptions. I found it unwatchable. Maybe Division 3 is better, since they're rarely televised.
