Yes, I thought about a similar scenario. After an hour or two of waiting, he's daydreaming, eating a sandwich, etc.... Suddenly, police motorcycles appear and then there's JFK's car now coming towards his position. So he has to put down his sandwich, maybe quickly wipe his hands on his shirt, adjust his body, pick up his rifle, steady himself, acquire the target, etc... It still seems like enough time for 1-2 shots, but perhaps by then, Kennedy's car is already starting to turn (??).
I dunno, and I'm not convinced its a conspiracy either. Just seems to me he passed up what was plenty of time for what were clearly the best shots, only to wait and take the much more difficult ones.
In the recently released material, the Coronor indicated that Kennedy was hit from two directions.
With zero exceptions, people who still believe Oswald acted alone (I used to, but it became untenable ) also believe bullets reverse directions in midair.
So the Oswald guy is out and its some inside (cia/xxa) job?

Bingo! Doesn't make sense. Throws the whole thing out the window. Literally. He'd have to have crawled out on the wide ledge to get a shot off at that angle.
Have they opened "the window" to the public again? At one time, they'd closed it off so that you had to stand at a nearby window which is a better angle to aim so that's confused people.
I grew up there so know the route and was able to actually lean out the real window. Officer Tippit lived at the end of our street. Oswald's boarding house was right around the corner from my doctor's office. All of Tippit's running around and coincidentally finding Oswald is a big nuh-huh. Just exactly where was Oswald headed after the shooting? Heard one theory to some Iranian's house but most have never addressed it.
Amazing how everyone knows where they were that day except Bush. I was at school and the nuns brought a tv into our room and brought in other classes because our room was double the size of other classrooms. Was at home watching tv when Oswald was killed.
Also, we knew LBJ and visited at the ranch. He and Gov. Connally had lake places down from us. No way would Nellie have allowed LBJ eat at her table and be around her family if he'd had anything to do with the assassination.

Funny how the Oswald family was driven from NOLA to Dallas 8 weeks prior by a CIA agent family member -Ruth Payne.
Funny how the same CIA operative lands LHO a job at the TSBD 5 weeks prior to Kennedy’s motorcade. And even funnier that Lee had a much better job offer telephoned into the Payne residence, yet the Payne’s failed to inform Lee of that offer. Who believes he just happened to get a job at the perfect time on the parade route?
Who knows what Lee was told to do by the Agency . It worked and he was set up as a very convincing patsy and then executed.
My first guess is that LBJ was behind it. My second is that Ted Kennedy was.

Of course, I've also seen tests in surplus military rifle magazines that indicate that the Carcano is more accurate than most people believe.

Of course, it could have been a jealous spouse, too. :-)
Many people have asked this. Maybe Oswald heard a noise and was distracted. Or maybe he could not shoot at someone facing him? Who knows?
