A 63-year-old father of 43 children was found beaten to death Sunday afternoon in his home on Chicago's West Side.
The body of John Hearring -- known as Nicholas -- was discovered with head trauma in his upstairs apartment in the 1000-block of North Leamington Avenue in the South Austin neighborhood.
Multiple family members confirmed that he had 43 children.
Hearring was a long-time resident there and well-known in the neighborhood.

He’s well known? Not surprising with 43 children by who knows how many mothers.
I’m betting that he didn’t know the names of all 43, and that most of the 43 don’t know his name.
Apparently a lot of women thought so.
I don't approve of a senseless crime. But, given the fact of his fecundity, which is unrelated to the crime, I wonder how he supported such a large family? Or, have I been doing that?
Hard of Hearring
Where is it? I wanna see it...............
Nicest man you could ever meet said his daughter in law. How grand kids does he have. Great grand kids etc etc
A taxpayer finally got fed up with supporting his 43 kids and untold number of grandkids and great grandkids?
43 kids?
I wonder if he has beaten Laz’s record?
Less known is the fact that Nicolas was 146 years old...
I have zero doubt your “contributions” were well received, put to good use, and, as a bonus, bred severe resentment in 43 mothers and 43 children.
Great minds not only think alike, they think alike at the same time.
No, the most amazing thing is he was 35 years old...first baby mama knocked up when he was 13 and churned out two per year for 22 years.
43?? Racehorse Secretariat didn’t produce as much offspring.
People here like to use the term “alpha male”.
This guy was an alpha male.
I'll bet Father's day was a real treat for that douche wagon. Imagine the genetic challenges that might come from that neighborhood over the next generation. A DNA investigator could set up shop and make a career out of sorting out who should date & mate with whom.
