It’s very hard for the left to decide what to do with a language such as Spanish, French, etc where nouns have genders. Strangely enough, feminists in the English speaking world shrieked about the few sex-differentiated terms in English, such as actress or poetess, and got them eliminated. At the same time, Europe’s feminists were screaming about the fact that traditionally, a term such as judge or mayor (juez or alcalde in Spanish) didn’t reflect the sex of the holder, so they demanded the introduction of “jueza,” or “ alcaldesa,” feminine genders of the titles. (Actually, in Spanish, these terms existed but they were honorary titles for the wife of the mayor or official - LOL.)

In any case, since every noun has a gender in a language with genders, these people are now going nuts trying to remake their very language to reflect their political obsessions.

What you said!

Plus, what is up with "reforming" a language to equally reflect two genders, if there are 5 or 12 or 38 genders, all with their accompanying grammatically-matched adjectives, articles, etc?

The whole system breaks down even with just two.

They want "deaconess" but reject "priestess."

They don't want "male nurse"anywhere, but they do want "trans woman" everywhere.

Waitaminnit. That was yesterday. Today they don't.

Waiter. Waitress. Waitperson. Wait-staff. Waitron.

Tigress.

Euphrates.
