It's time we changed our EMR state of mind.
My Internist uses his tablet computer during a visit, which I found annoying and mentioned it - he put it down, apologized, and looked me in the eye. He then reached for the rubber gloves and said, “bend over”.
[[ He then reached for the rubber gloves and said, bend over.]]
Why? Was your shoe untied?
Were both his hands on your sholdiers?
I had to laugh when I saw my Rheumatologist this past February. He walked in the room, and I said Hello, and asked him how he was doing. He stopped, his face lit up, and he said to me: “You know, you’re the first person who has asked me that this year.” He doesn’t spend too much time on the computer. My Endocrinologist sometimes irritates me as while I’m trying to tell him something, he’s posting my diabetes test strip results that I am asked to bring in whenever I see him. I’ve had to stop talking so he can concentrate on that, since it’s obvious he can’t listen, and type at the same time.
Mine does.
He’s a concierge doctor. We get first class service because we are willing to pay for what we need and not depend on “insurance”. Insurance companies are nothing but profiteers that get between you and your doctor.
Insurance serves a purpose. It’s there to manage risk. If Fedzilla would loosen the regulatory stranglehold on insurers, there would be a lot more choices available for consumers.
No, he was busy pulling the roses out first [ducking shower of rotted fruit...]
“If Fedzilla would loosen the regulatory stranglehold on insurers,”
They did. Trump signed the executive order on October 12, 2017.
I once went to a doctor--I had to see a specialist--and he just looked at his computer screen the entire time. I swore I would never do that with a patient--and I never saw him again.
But those changes are still not fully implemented. Lots of “studying” and “proposing” sill going on. And there was way too much regulation, fed and state, of the industry even before Obamacare. Last I checked, none of that has been affected.
My doctor looks me in the eye. He’s great!
Perfect example...
A: NO.
I watched this earlier today. He is right.
I had an Endocrinologist who was great until she got her lap top. She never once looked at me after that.
I got rid of her. The new guy doesn’t do that
You only have one?
You get it.
Imagine if you had to file an insurance claim for lunch.
A hamburger would cost over 100 dollars
Easy to cure that if you are the patient:
“Hey, doc, do you always have spiders that big in here?”
Bet he looks up from the computer... :-)
Mine does, too. And then gives me a reading list of Christian books he’s read lately. I love my doc.
