Paramount says it has fired the head of its television division for making unspecified comments that drew complaints from employees.
Paramount Pictures CEO Jim Gianopulos wrote in a memo Thursday that Amy Powell had been fired for making comments that were 'inconsistent with company values.'
The memo did not elaborate on the nature of the statements or where they were made, beyond stating they were said in a 'professional setting.'
A source told Variety that the comments were 'racially charged' in nature.
Powell allegedly made an insensitive remark about the television adaptation of the 1996 movie First Wives Club.
During a conference call with producers of the show, Powell made a comment about black women being angry.
This prompted an African-American assistant who was on the call to complain.

Seems to be the pattern in stories like this. Always about something “controversial” or “offensive” but they never say what it is.

Yeah. And the context to. I have yet to learn what the Papa John's guy said. From what I can tell during a training conference call about what you can say and can't say he said, "Col. Sanders could call someone a 'nigger', but we can't." I still don't know if this is correct or not.

Exactly. The Left is nothing more than a collective lynch mob. Not sure exactly what was said here, but this account indicates it was not actionable. But one dare not speaketh against Blacks, or say anything potentially - potentially - misinterpreted to women.
After watching Papa John get publicly lynched, it is a perilous time in America. This is exactly how the killing field started in Cambodia.
Operationally, the rule is that you can be fired if you say anything that offends a member of a protected class. What that might be can never be known in advance. It's like dealing with an impossible wife. "Yes, dear" and "Whatever you say, dear," are the only acceptable responses.
