If you will pay attention, you will notice that Sacha Baron Cohen has fooled a lot of people in positions of authority and power. It is becoming apparent that a lot of these people do not pay attention to what's going on. That causes me some concern. People who are supposed to be leaders making important decisions should be aware of what is going on around them.
It is very interesting that a gun shop owner who is not a person of high authority quickly recognized who he was. It seems to me that people with a solid foundation of values will spot a charlatan like that. Those without values will never see it coming.
“Those without values will never see it coming.”
Mostly agree— people in the public spotlight should know better and are caught because their own need for exposure smothers any common sense, however ‘civilians’ not in celebrity culture should not have to worry about being held up to public ridicule.
I never knew this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allen_Funt
On February 3, 1969, Funt, his wife, and his two youngest children boarded Eastern Airlines Flight 7 in Newark, New Jersey with a destination of Miami, Florida. While en route, two men hijacked the plane and demanded passage to Cuba. However, some of the passengers, having spotted Funt, believed the whole thing to be a Candid Camera stunt. Funt repeatedly attempted to persuade his fellow passengers as to the reality of the hijacking, but to no avail. The plane later landed in Cuba, finally convincing the passengers.
I believe the movie in #42 was “Sack Lunch.”
I think he’s gross.
But he presents himself in such a weird way when he pulls these things, it is funny that people don’t get a clue pretty quickly, even if they’ve never heard of him.
I know that. I don’t recognize the person and his baby or the crash scene. Who is he and what is the crash scene about?
It was texting crash image, dont know details, u can get image source and dig for yourself.
It's disturbing the day you realize your leaders are dumb. It opens you up to a whole lot of phobias about who is really minding America's physical and legal infrastructure. Part of Cohen's gig is to pull off their masks. This makes him wildly unpopular in some quarters, but I consider him a public servant.
The people you think are in charge are not. Their staffs do the work, research, and make policy decisions. The leader is a figurehead that goes around talking and raising money.
They are more interested in the spotlight than actually doing anything. The whole thing is a racket. Its worse than organized crime.
I agree, it amazes me how our supposedly “smart” leaders fall for these scams.
Politicians live in a bubble. They almost never meet anyone without it being planned and programmed in advance. When confronted with someone who is outside the approved parameters they cannot even see it because they are reading from their internal script. Because mostly they don't care about real people and they aren't really paying that much attention.
Someone in the public eye - and especially a "celebrity" - doesn't have those options.
Politicians and other celebrities aren't necessarily "dumber" or more gullible than average Joes - but they can't afford to be seen (especially on camera) as being uncharitable or unfriendly. Hence their vulnerability to being duped (or at least to appear - to our eyes - of have been duped).
Cohen knows this about his victims, and exploits it.
Regards,
Why should I care? I don’t. I loathe this person.
What great points you make!
You Don’t Mess with the Zohan, no really stay far, far away.
You're actually right, but some things require urgency. This guy actually needs some urgent action on his ass. His agenda is wicked.
I understand folks. Thanks! I did most of it talk-to-text. It’s not as bad as it seems. I’ll be careful. I want to see Cohen get his comeuppance.
At least you may understand why other people, especially Israelis, don’t. I saw Borat. It had its moments. I passed on the opportunity to see Who is America when it came to my tv site. Overall he’s not my cup of tea but I don’t loathe him like I loathe Robert De Niro, for example, who’s a great actor but a loathsome human being. Cohen is the opposite, a fairly decent human being who plays a loathsome character.
No offense but if you think Cohen is a fairly decent person, you live in Cloud Coo-Coo Land. What do I care about the Israelis? I come from a family of New York comedy writers - don’t try to palm off a rubber peach on me.
You sound like one of those people who have trouble separating fictional characters in movies from the people who play them.
