Why didn't they just add Barbra Streisand and go for the Trifecta?

So true -- or Susan Sarandon...

Rex Reed wrote the most scathingly brilliant hatchet job on this movie.

I guess there are too many women in it for his liking.

I think the last musical movie I saw was “Phantom of the Opera”, and that was only because a friend asked me to go with her as she didn’t want to go alone. I’m not into musicals anymore. Before that, I saw and enjoyed the movie “West Side Story” and “Jesus Christ Superstar.” Have the movie soundtracks for both of those. When I was younger, I was into Rogers & Hammerstein movies. Never really saw a broadway show/musical. Once saw Godspell from a traveling theatrical group. Not a big arts fan.

Blacks should demand their own film. They could base the title on Al Jolsen's song, and call it "My Mammy."

Never ceases to amaze me how many people go to movies like this, essentially giving their money to people who spit on them.

This is Hollywood’s best chance for a profit. I see a lot of advertising on cable. BIG FAIL,IMHO

I have tickets to Phantom in San Diego the end of August. Saw it 3 times with Michael Crawford. Excellent. Only reason I’m going to this one is I have friends who want to see it. They’ve supposedly outdone themselves with the set now too.

Hope you and your friends have an enjoyable time. Are you near San Diego?

Bakersfield and Ventura. Close enough. We’re making a weekend of it so will have a great time. Have a room overlooking the harbor. 4 of us girls. Lol
