Stoned Alone, an R-rated Home Alone re-imagining, is in the works from Fox and Ryan Reynolds.
Reynolds, who just released Deadpool 2 with the studio, will produce the comedy about a 20-something stoner who, after missing the plane for his holiday ski trip, gets high and becomes paranoid that people are breaking into his house. While high, he tries to thwart the thieves who have actually, really broken into his house.
Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider wrote the feature that will be directed by Augustine Frizzell, whose Sundance feature Never Goin' Back will soon be release by A24. Burrows and Mider wrote the upcoming Netflix comedy The Package (previously titled Eggplant Emoji) about a teenager who accidentally cuts off his penis during a camping trip.
Reynolds will produce via his Maximum Effort banner, with George Dewey executive producing.
Home Alone, released in 1990, was directed by Chris Columbus and written by John Hughes. It follows Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) who gets left behind by his family over Christmas vacation and defends his house from burglars using an ingenious variety of booby traps.
Do the producers still get to rape the child actor who gets left behind?
Filth. Young people will love it.
I have enjoyed some of his movies, but my fan loyalty stops when actors engage in obligatory Trump bashing. I didn’t appreciate his anti-Trump jokes on Stephen Colbert’s show. Reynolds is on my don’t watch list now.
His ‘raped as a child’ polysexual Deadpool was offputting.

It’s barely believable how much cultural rot has set in since 1990. I shudder to think how bad things will be 28 years from now.
The lesbian/gay friendly message of the movie was unnecessary also. Won’t watch another one.
