Today, Reynolds is reduced to doing infomercials for CarShield auto insurance. These folks believe their own press... and 'invest' in places that would make them 'look good' - large homes, upscale (but poorly run) restaurants etc... All of 'who they are' is on the outside and it's sad.

Poor impulse control.
Years ago Burt was trying to become a "serious actor," but the money from the Smokey and the Bandit and Cannonball Run movies was too much to turn down.
If he'd gone the serious route, he would have had less money but maybe he would have managed it better.

Many celebrities are quite odd and not bright. An honest financial planner would set them up for life but I think because they are imbalanced they can’t surround themselves with a normal person.
