In Debbie Reynold's case, the obnoxious old man she married, Harry Carl, gambled away his fortune and hers too – £65 million of hers, to be precise. Her third husband, property developer Richard Hamlett, squandered the rest of Debbie’s money in a failed business venture. Why, Why did she make such disastrous choices in husbands??

(I still can't believe Debbie is gone.)

Several times Reynolds came close to achieving her ambition of establishing a museum dedicated to Hollywood memorabilia, but no one has proved willing to back the project. Instead her houses became museums of sorts, and she ended up spending too much of her own money (money that she earned again after being ripped off by Carr and third husband) and endured much heartbreak over her mostly failed ambition to save beloved artifacts from movies tor the public's enjoyment.

Quite a girl, and I miss her.

It’s probably pretty hard to find a decent, normal guy in the show business arena. Debbie was taken to the cleaners more than once. I think something similar happened to Judy Garland and even Dorothy Hamil (ice skater), didn’t it? Any good conman can likely fake it so the other person thinks they are trust worthy. It’s a shame.
