I don't see why they can't just leave him alone, with his ducks, who aren't hurting anything.

service ducks

Seriously? He should be able to travel and fly with them./s I've seen almost as bad on planes in the last year or two under the guise of service animals.

What the hell would a neighbor have to complain about two ducks? Really? Where they crapping on other people’s property or breaking into houses to steal bread or corn? Something more going on here between the families. Having said that, what the hell is a service duck? Do they wear the little vest like service dogs do?

We have a pair of ducks that have decided to live in our neighborhood, and are often seen walking around on the streets in classic suburbia. They do have one house that they consider to be “home”, but only by their own choice.

I am glad that our neighbors have not called to have them removed or poisoned, etc.

Seems harmless enough, as long as he is not insisting on taking them with him into stores and public buildings, etc.

In all fairness, and I’m one that really hates HOA’s, Ducks are really dirty animals!

Why can’t he get a service dog? Much easier to clean up after and much easier to sue in court for.

The absolute NERVE of some people, allowing a boy to go outdoors and have creatures for companions. It destroys the pristine, suburban environment outside! Signs and noises from children and creatures in the outside world are offensive. He should spend 10 hours a day in front of a computer or an Xbox playing with virtual ducks. It’s the same exact thing! And no one would have to put up with this crap. Who goes outside anymore anyhow? /sarc

I do believe the service _________ thing has gotten completely loopy. They are PETS. Enough with the liberal mind games.

The neighbors say the ducks wander into their yards and crap all over their property.

Geese have taken over an area in a park a couple of blocks from our house. They roam wherever they want, crapping all over. If they feel like it they wander into a busy street, stopping traffic.

Waterfowl are not pets. Get the kid a dog.

I’d laugh my ass off if their neighborhood was infested with a plague of Canadian geese.

Then they’d really have something to whine about.

Meanwhile, in the crazy-ass Bay Area, we’re suffering through a spike of salmonella outbreaks because the nuts here think raising chickens in their backyards is so rural-urban chic or sumthin’.

I am embarrassed for some of the responses here. My grand daughter has autism and it is very real She is 7 years old and
nonverbal. She is nearly impossible to potty train. I wish she had a duck that she was interested in.

I sympathize, to some extent, with all parties. Perhaps, for their son’s long-term benefit, the parents could explore moving somewhere that he could raise ducks or other farm animals as a hobby. There’s a market for the eggs and down.

You ever had to deal with duck poop in your back yard? Obviously not.

Which recognized Service Animal Organization certified these ducks as service animals? Show us the paperwork.
