Purse manufacturers, their employees, tanneries, fashion houses and the retailers all add to the economy bigly. It's just like people tsk-tsking on the DeVos yacht vandalism thread. Boatbuilders, maintenance companies, crews, and all the ancillary industries create tens or hundreds of thousands of mostly good-paying jobs.
