I get it. I had a specialized “hard rock” that lasted 20 + years of riding (including carrying my daughters around). I think I paid less than $400 for it.
I’ve seen a Shinola bike at the DTW Geneva FBO. It was nice looking, and I’m sure it was handcrafted, but IIRC it was $1400! , or more.
I suppose if I was at the level where the dollars didn’t matter, I would probably buy one for tooling around.

If cost was not an issue, go with a titanium frame made in the USA by Litespeed, or some other custom builder.
Cycle nuts will know all about it, others, not so much.
I do not want to bad mouth Shinola, they sell a lot of sizzle with the steak.
I think they are good at marketing, and that adds perceived value to the product.
I wish them well.
