CA will not let companies in to clean up the forests. Getting dead fuel out of the forest would significantly reduce the size and destructive nature of these fires. The fires are natures way of cleansing itself. Now, either you let mother nature do the house cleaning or you let humans and technology go in there and pull out the dead logs and trees. There is money to be made in most cases, so many forests can be managed for low to no cost if they would just let people in there.
#8 Big Bear and Lake Arrowhead above Los Angeles will be one big fireplace because the state will not allow clearing the millions of dead trees killed by the beetle infestation.
