At the Circus. Even as late as 1977, it was considered a bit odd, as we see here in a clip from
The Muppet show. Why a 21st century woman would want to look like a 20th century sideshow attraction is beyond me.

Phelan - just one of the meth communities on the high desert. No pun intended. When I was in high school the joke was - when Phelan got its own high school, it would be Phelan High or High Desert High. What a place, only second to Adelanto there in the desert.
