PARIS (Reuters) - French judges ruled on Saturday that two celebrity rappers should be held in custody ahead of their trial in a months time following a brawl in the departure lounge of a Paris airport earlier this week.
The two, Booba, 41, and Kaaris, 38, were arrested on Wednesday in the aftermath of a fight between their respective entourages, during which punches and kicks were exchanged and bottles containing perfume were thrown, sending other passengers scurrying for safety.
Booba, whose real name is Elie Yaffa, has sold millions of records and is one of Frances most downloaded artists.
Judges at the court in the Paris suburb of Creteil set the trial for Sept. 6, citing a risk of further violence to justify the decision to hold the rappers and nine other suspects in jail.

It ain't Britain.
Do we need pics?
Let them enjoy the Left Bank....
Good ol’ Americana finding it’s way to France.
I like French food. No snails or frogs please.
Four people for a 12 sentence story. Looks like Reuters is grossly overstaffed.
I was expecting Maurice Chevalier and Charles Aznavour.
A reporter, two writers and an editor.
The one on the right looks like a lighter-skinned Idris Elba.
But they were turning their lives around and were aspiring rappers. Oh wait a minute....rapperdom has already been acheived.
Booba, elie, kaaris sound like feminine names - and they were fighting over perfume.
Other than French Fries, I’m not aware of any specific French Food that is not a part of the current American cuisine.
Sounds like the setup for a good bar joke...
French women are so ooo lala...enjoy!
