An Oregon man was arrested Thursday night after getting caught on video earlier this week harassing a bison in Yellowstone National Park, officials announced.
Raymond Reinke, 55, who was journeying across multiple U.S. parks throughout the week, was taken into custody by Glacier National Park officials, a news release from Yellowstone officials said.
We appreciate the collaboration of our fellow rangers in Glacier and Grand Teton national parks on this arrest. Harassing wildlife is illegal in any national park, Yellowstone National Park Superintendent Dan Wenk said.
Since late July, Reinke was arrested multiple times, officials noted in the release. On July 28, law enforcement rangers at Grand Teton National Park took Reinke into custody for a drunk and disorderly conduct incident, after which he was booked in jail overnight.

I no longer wonder how stupid people can get.
Perhaps this will start up some weird ‘running of the Bison’ where you round up forty stupid idiot-guys, and just let them get trampled upon.
Not a good plan. I had a buddy I used to work with who went to Utah on buisiness. Day off he went to The Great Salt Lake to some island/refuge. He encountered a bison and did NOT taunt it. Bison hit him and then the stare down began. He finally managed to edge away back to the parking lot where some folks saw him. Collapsed lung, broken ribs, dislocated shoulder, internal bleeding. Spent a few days in ICU. The park ranger told him he was lucky because if the bison had knocked him down instead of flipping him he’d probably have been killed. He wrote it up for Field and Stream or some outdoor publication. He recovered but was known as Buffalo Jim from then on.
Was he arrested on an animal rights charge? Taunting?
Maybe with a little luck this will spread to rioters in cities. DREAMING AAGAIN!
Drunk and disorderly, traffic violations, open container, wildlife harassment. He had a number of ‘contacts’ with rangers at Grand Teton, Yellowstone and Glacier National Parks in the past couple weeks.
This guy’s behavior is light years beyond stupid. I think he is having or has had some kind of mental breakdown. Notice he had spent the last few days annoying people, going from park to park looking for other park visitors to harass over trivial things. He was crusin’ for a bruisin’.
I don’t know.

Hmmm. How about some get brought in and turned loose for the next aunt teefuh gathering?
In other words, he was arrested for being a disorderly a$$ under existing law, not expansively interpreted.
I was hoping for a liberal animal-rights slant here, because anything is possible nowadays. As if the buffalo needed protection from a half-witted, unarmed drunk.
Maybe I should have added a /S ?
I’ve been to one single bullfight in my life (it was a three-bull event). So, on the 2nd bull...he actually jumped up into the stands and scared about forty folks on the bottom level (that took 15 minutes to coach him to come back down onto the field). The 3rd bull ended up knocking the guy down, and stomped on his leg...they had to carry that guy off. After that all ended, I got lost from my tour group, and missed the bus back to the hotel for the evening....that was an experience.
The Bison Challenge for liberals and millennials! If they will eat tide pods this will be a piece of cake for them...
