A Santa Barbara city councilman inadvertently let slip the primary purpose of progressivism in 21st century America.

The city recently criminalized the use of plastic straws. Speaking to that issue, Councilman Jesse Dominguez said, “Unfortunately, common sense is just not common. We have to regulate every aspect of people’s lives.”

Someone at DNC Headquarters just ordered a bunch of Maalox in 55-gallon drums.

Rather, if we didn’t all sin then what would be the point of Jesus Resurrection? ;)

Free Will didn’t get us in trouble, it was choosing sin that mucked things up. I was pointing out the God gave us options and doesn’t regulate our lives like the person in the story sees to do... they in fact, want to ‘have more control over our daily lives’ than God does.

Just saying out loud what we’ve known for generations. It’s good to hear it said though. It will make an excellent sound bite in the political ads across the country. You know; because everyone wants the government to regulate every aspect of their lives. Even while sleeping. /s

It’s great campaign material for conservatives who will embrace it.

few weeks ago I made a string of words in a rhetorical fashion about regulation and they were not taken as rhetorical and that’s my fault so I want to apologize.

A "string of words in a rhetorical fashion" is commonly known as a sentence. These have meanings. There is nothing "rhetorical" about regulating every aspect of people's lives. It was taken literally because that's exactly what it means.

The Left has always had a very dark totalitarian aspect to it hidden under a cloak of lofty, self-righteous rhetoric. This is simply a case of that cloak being dropped inadvertently and very temporarily. He can't say he didn't say it, he did say he didn't mean it, but he did and he does.

Not in a hundred years will he be able to walk that back. Those horses are running and the illegal aliens mucking out the barn stalls just lost a paycheck.

Poor Jessie, he seems to forget, some people refuse to be 'regulated.' Hope he sees the light before things get ugly.
