They have both learned how to eat their own.
Neither tolerates dissent.

Especially with the right .......they are so used to being abused, that they have become what they hate..

I'd give primacy to the fact we've been on defense from the left since Clinton began the endless campaign, and the incapacity to fight the racial and neo-Marxist one two of the Obamas. The left itself has become totally intolerant of other opinions, and it's showing in their evil, entitled insanity since they lost to Trump.
We have our share of Pharisees, and harsh disagreements, but it's so rare compared to the left, which is always outraged by another opinion.
After all, in their minds, they are shocked to find there IS another opinion.
