Devout and Diverse... take more conservative views than their fellow Democratic-leaning groups on a number of issues including global engagement, views of business and attitudes on homosexuality and immigrants. Devout and Diverse are defined, in part, by their faith: Most say that it is necessary to believe in God in order to be moral and have good values. While most disapprove of Donald Trumps job performance, their opposition to Trump and the GOP is not especially intense. In part, this reflects the fact that about a quarter (26%) are Republicans or lean toward the Republican Party, and 40% describe their own ideology as conservative.
While this Pew study is almost a year old, it foretells of the #Walkaway movement where minorities are tired of being used and abused by Solid Liberal-types and are warming to the Trump Train. While some men and women, you can't reach, I suspect we will see many from all walks of life who previously were on the Dem side willingly joining Deplorable picnics - and I'd rather have them at my barbecue than the likes of Ryan, Flake, Jeb! and Willard.
Any “Deplorable” picnics better have armed guards.
