PIERCE COUNTY, WIS. — A roofer used a circular saw to kill a co-worker Monday, police said.

Maguel A. Nabarro, 24, used the saw and cut Israel Valles-Flores, 37, severely on the neck and face, according to WQOW.

Police found Valles-Flores unconscious on a roof where the men were working around 4:30 p.m., the St. Paul Pioneer Press reported.

Nabarro, of St. Louis, was arrested and charged with suspicion of intentional homicide, the Pioneer Press reported.

A few of them were dining at a local joint in Santa Ana, CA and began having a dispute over which Mexican state is the best- your usual Sinaloa Rules, Chihuahua Sucks sort of thing.

Anyway, guns and knives were drawn and the loser was taken away to the morgue.

Well, don't keep us waiting. Which one is best?

There was a movie, back in the seventies I think, called “The Tool Box Murderer”. Anybody remember that one?

Those are good for cutting neat windows in the guy’s skull, just like a brain surgeon.

Death by circular saw is not the worst option among the power tools. Not compared to death by handheld power planer, belt sander or bench grinder.

Being strapped down on a big mill making incrementally deeper cuts wouldn’t be a party either.

Thirty years ago, I was working for my brother, a Philadelphia area contractor. We had a guy working for us who used to wedge the guard open on the worm-drive saw. He was cutting through a board when the saw bound and kicked back. The blade, at full depth, went across his left thigh. We saw it happen, and it was gruesome. He made a full recovery.

Deaths related to sports fandom aren’t unusual.

Actually, wifey the other day got her foot cast off, and they had a Fein-like saw with a strong vacuum. No problem, should the blade touch the skin when cutting the cast.

belt sander

Sanding skin off slowly over a large area is not pleasant.

For my 15th I’d chosen a Buck knife. My anniversary coincided with the release of a “Round 2” lay-off list and yes, I was on it. I found out later that there was much discussion over whether to give me my gift or not that day.

But I don’t THINK this was about sports fandom.

My point is that an argument over whether Sinaloa is better than Chihuahua is at the same level of idiocy as an argument over Clemson vs. Auburn or Spurs vs. Lakers. The whole thing falls in the category of, “Drunk people get in stupid, sometimes fatal, fights over nonsense.”

Well ok. But I was trying to imagine a US parallel. Michigan vs. Wisconsin? Vermont vs. New Hampshire? And hey, NOBODY can beat Texas, at least till Alaska comes swaggering up. The imagination boggles.

And talking about swaggering, anecdotally “macho” seems to be a Mexican man swagger thing, that was later adopted by Anglos. Pumped with vanity and pride, and separated from the protective-warrior role that is exhorted by classical biblically obedient Christianity.

Male posturing is widespread across cultures because it’s rooted in basic biology.

Nah. It’s just a macho-fight, something that some Mexican men love to do when they’re not using their saws to be lumberjacks that are okay.

Actually it’s a pretty sad comment on nations, and it isn’t just the USA, who now don’t know the headship of the Prince of Peace, a.k.a. the Carpenter who came from Heaven. And the present poofteresque Pope isn’t helping on the Roman Catholic end.
