The rainbow collar thing looks like the specialized collars I’ve seen on service dogs in my capacity as a case manager-I forget the name of it-but the photo in post #11 is showing just an ordinary harness for a big dog-you can buy one at any ranch store, Petsmart of from Chewy online...
I get that you don’t like large guarding breed dogs, but a harness on a big dog does not a monster make-there are people like me who do not like small dogd-especially yappy little frou frou purse dogs-if we all liked the same kind of dog, AKC and all the other purebred registries would cease to exist-from a lack of business...

Sorry, I didn't get the memo. You post anything that tries to claim pitbulls are misunderstooding, loving animals, I for one, will point out the reality that they are killers, need to be banned and put down. No exception, no quarter. I love dogs grew up with them but we had enough common sense to never have a pitbull. Happy to say that I have a 9mm that will stop one if I or my family are threatened and will go to sleep knowing that there is one less pitbull to maim or kill someone.

These pit bull/dog threads are like Groundhog Day. Same stuff over and over and over. They should be banned.
Everyone of them is like warping into the DU.
We’ve worked with rescued Pittys and for sharing that knowledge we get every invective short of death threats by so called conservatives.
This is one of the reasons I no longer suggest to other conservatives that they become acquainted with Free Republic. Pathetic and embarrassing.

Stability, Temperament and Confirmation
They will do their due diligence in screening prospective buyers
and ensure the buyers have done their own due diligence in educating themselves about the responsibilities of owning a 'pitbull',
and provide any additional info to the buyer if needed.
Taking on the responsibility of ownership of any dog should never be done on a whim and a responsible breeder will be alert to that possibility.
They will have buyers sign contracts that will allow the breeder,
if there is any hint of irresponsible ownership, to repossess the dog.
The breeder has the responsibility to investigate the buyer
and the buyer has the responsibility to investigate the breeder.
Dogs are dogs and are all potentially dangerous.
The danger is enhanced if the owners do not follow the Principles of Responsible Dog Ownership...
Contain, Control, Maintain, Train and Socialize....and mitigated if they do.

Typical response...” your hate zone”...maybe you should work for Facebook or Google to monitor anyone who disagrees with you or presents facts about the breed.
Interesting there are never counter fact based arguments from pitbull apologists when we mention genetics and breeding that are more lethal than other “ dog bites”.
I can respond to any thread with counter arguments, facts and points for discussion.
The usual response is not a logical discussion about the specific issues with pit bulls but a blanket response “ dogs should be trained.”
Gangs in the hood don’t “ not train or socialize” Labradors to get the effect they can with pit bulls. Theres a reason they select the pitbull breed. Case closed.
I love dogs. I don’t “ Hate “ pittbulls. I think it is a tragedy how they have been bred. And, yes I think the breed is dangerous more than other dogs, who also can attack.

You seem like a barrel of laughs.
The problem with this is “What is a pit bull?” So many breeds look like pit bulls to many people. I had to change insurance companies because I had 2 pit bulls, one “real big”. I have never had a pit, don’t want one. I had a black mouthed cur and a great dane. Several good breeds get caught up in this.
I have also seen the stories about a lovable pit suddenly mauling a familiar person. They always say it was so sweet, but I have yet to read about someone claiming the dog was well trained. Or any story where a verifiably well trained pit attacked the owner or anyone or other dog. The level of training just doesn’t seem to come up in dog attack stories, which is a shame. I would like to know.
Supposedly only 5% of dog owners bother to train their animal, even the bare minimum. I would suspect that pits get even less training considering what kind of uses many are horribly put to.
