Several years ago, I read a book by Mrs. Nesbit, FDR’s cook and housekeeper in NY and then the White House. The exhausting year-long preparations for Christmas get an entire chapter in her book - and that was in the 30s during the Depression. I can’t imagine what it would be like today. But it must be wonderful fun.
