I’m not buying this story. Even with Venezuela in the toilet it strikes me as preposterous.
Perhaps the headline is a result of the hyperinflation, using a slightly outdated gasoline price with a current currency conversion rate, to give what appears to be an absurdly low price. Perhaps. (I’ve never been there, don’t know the true price there, and don’t have any intention of going to find out.)
