Both killed and bicycles involved. So if it’s not coincidence, I wonder what possible explanation there is for why. Seems awfully weird to me.

Exactly. Why would they pick bicycles? Either it’s a 1 in a zillion weird coincidence or they are trying to send some sort of message. Who would deliberately choose to do a hit on a bicyclist? So much more likely to have witnesses and to be traceable.
