“High protein’ diet is a misnomer. The only thing we really need to survive would be protein (our bacterial biome needs some carbs or starch) in its natural state,which always comes with the right amount of fats. But “high” is ridiculous. Every person depending on size and activity level needs x amount of protein, and it would not be high, to keep going with strength, growth, function. People might eat more than they need. But a serious athlete might do best on a diet with a relatively high weight of protein in it. No one needs more protein than their body needs to keep itself going.

The research was conducted at the University of South Wales where a high protein diet most likely indicates barbecued steak and kangaroo burger.
