No, the reason they have this problem is because homosexual men have no business being in the seminary, but have been allowed in for many years. I would flat out ask a potential seminarian, “are you gay?” If yes, then sorry this isn’t for you. Some gay men think joining a seminary will help them overcome their proclivities when in reality, it makes it much worse for them. Others join to indulge their proclivities. The bureaucracy has been far too lenient. If the Church actually started aggressively weeding these people out, watch the press have a field day with how mean and intolerant they are. They will insist to their dying breath the problem isn’t with homosexuality. It damn well is.

The difference between what happens in locally controlled religions is that once the offender is discovered, they are removed. I am not aware of any case in any other denomination where there are as many as 25-30 accusations against a single person.

It’s not the sin—which is bad. It’s the continued coverup and the relocation of the offenders.

I don’t understand why the pedo-defenders don’t understand this.
